What is innovation?

InnoTec, as the name indicated, carries a gene of innovation from the very beginning of its establishment. Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and Digital Transformation are the 2 key areas of innovation that we embrace.

DfMA

DfMA stands for Design for Manfacturing and Assembly and combines two methodologies of
Design for Manufacture
design for ease of manufacture of the parts that form a product; and
Design for Assembly
design of the Product for ease of assembly.

InnoTec sees the benefits and the future through DfMA which can help to address the major issues that Hong Kong construction industry has been facing: high costs, short construction period, and unsatisfactory performance. We embraced the idea of DfMA early on by not only joined the 1st E&M group for CIC's DfMA training in Singapore January 2019, but also introduced Flexible Sprinkler Dropper. The approach was proven effective in reduced the overall project duration by one third and saved more than 60% in installation time.

Currently, InnoTec has supported CIC ACMT program to train in-house field installation team from semi-skilled worker to registered skilled worker in 18 months. It is a 100% English speaking team with 80% non-Chinese.

Jimmy Tsang - Field Installation Manager
Jimmy is Field Installation Manager of InnoTec, a licensed plumber with more than 30 years. He is experienced practitioner of mechanical and electrical engineering. In 1993, he was appointed by the Construction Industry Council as a Trade Testing and Industry Training Supervising Instructor. Over past 20 years of work, he took the examination of hundreds of Certificate plumbers and also trained many outstanding trainees.
Jimmy served as the chief judge of the Hong Kong Youth Skills Competition and the international judge of the Plumber of the World Skills Competition.
He is a member of The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE); Vice-chairman of The Hong Kong Institution of Plumbing and Drainage (2021-2023).
Sanam Iqbal - Senior Project Supervisor
Sanam is the 1st non-Chinese staff of Inno Tec, a CIC Semi-skilled plumbing mechanic.
CIC Skilled dry-fire system worker with 20 year experience in construction industry. He was one of the graduates attending the 1st CIC’s overseas DfMA training programme held in Singapore.
